Organising Committee

A message from Chris Bishop MP, Chair of the Organising Committee:

444“I’m really excited that the Hutt City Youth Awards are back, bigger and better, in 2016.

The Hutt City Youth Awards are all about shining a light on the talented young people we have here in the Hutt who show huge potential for the future, and who have made a significant contribution to the city.

The awards recognise the extraordinary breadth and depth of talent we have in our young people in Hutt City. Too often young people get a bad rap, particularly in the media. The reality is that in so many different fields, young people are achieving great things. They’re contributing to the community. They’re creating new businesses. They’re volunteering with charities; overcoming challenging personal circumstances to succeed against the odds; leading by example.

I can’t wait to see who the finalists are for the 2016 awards. I know that they’ll be equally as good, if not better, than our outstanding 2015 finalists and winners.”CBP_Dark Blue Trans copy
